Trip Overview
The Pikey Peak Trek is a hidden gem in the lower Everest region, perfect for those seeking breathtaking Himalayan views, rich Sherpa culture, and serene trails—without the crowds or altitude stress of other Everest treks. This short and relatively easy trek offers panoramic views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and more from the summit of Pikey Peak (4,065m), one of the best viewpoints in Nepal.
The trail winds through beautiful rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and picturesque Sherpa villages, giving you an authentic taste of Himalayan life. Along the way, you’ll encounter ancient Buddhist monasteries and stupas, adding a spiritual element to your journey. The trek is also known for its biodiversity, with opportunities to spot a variety of Himalayan flora and fauna.
Ideal for beginners and experienced trekkers alike, the Pikey Peak trek is a short, accessible adventure starting and ending near Kathmandu. It offers an excellent blend of mountain scenery, local culture, and peaceful trekking routes—making it a perfect alternative to the more crowded Everest Base Camp trek.
